The 4th and last call for proposals of FP6 in TP1 is published!
The 4th and last call in Thematic Priority 1 (TP1) "Life sciences, Genomics and Biotechnology for Health" is published on http://fp6.cordis.lu/lifescihealth/calls.cfm ! Deadline for proposal submission is 9 November, 2005. A Specific "SME call" for projects is introduced to stimulate the participation of SMEs in TP1. "SME-STREPS" (Specific Targeted Research Projects) are designed to boost SME efforts towards research and innovation. ...Read more >

30th FEBS Congress & 9th IUBMB Conference to take place in Budapest between 2-7 July, 2005
The 2005 Congress of the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS) will be held in Budapest between 2-7 July, 2005 and will be hosted by the organisation of the Hungarian Biochemical Society. As Conference of the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB) it will attract thousands of scientists from all over the world.

“SMEs go LifeSciences“ match making on the occasion of the 2nd ESF Conference on "Functional Genomics and Disease" in Oslo on 8 September, 2005
The 2nd ESF Conference on "Functional Genomics and Disease", to be held in Oslo between 6-10 September, 2005, provides 12 plenary lectures by outstanding scientists and 18 symposia and workshops covering the various areas of biology and medicine where functional genomics are currently applied. “SMEs go LifeSciences” is organising a match making session for SMEs and researchers on 8 September, 2005 .

CORDIA and World Life Science week in London, between 9-13 October, 2005
The World Life Science Week 2005 begins with Europe's longest-running partnering event, BioPartnering Europe (9-11 October) and continues with the second edition of CORDIA Biotechnology Convention (11-13 October). CORDIA reflects the fast moving progress in medical, agricultural and industrial biotechnology with the conference having four principal tracks - Policy, Finance, Science and Emerging Opportunities

Successful European Cycle on Innovation: EU FP6 Health/Food 4th last calls and SME participation in Paris on 31 May, 2005
165 participants took part at the European Cycle of Innovation, organised in Paris on 31 May, 2005, allowing research organisations, universities, SMEs, Industries, and public institutions to meet and exchange in order to prepare the last calls for proposals of FP6 Thematic Priority 1, “Life Sciences, Genomics and Biotechnology for health”, and Thematic Priority 5 “Food Quality and Safety”

Training session for related Life Science SMEs and community researchers held in Bucharest, Romania, on 1 June, 2005
The objective of the training session, organised by the Romanian project partner, FM Management Consultancy SRL in collaboration with Euro Info Centre Bucharest, was to intensively train the SMEs and research organisations representatives in relevant issues concerning FP6, in order to ensure the necessary background, information and assistance to potential FP6 participants.

Well-received Information Day on the upcoming 4th call in "Life sciences, genomics and biotechnology for health" (Thematic Priority 1) in Budapest, on 8 June, 2005
A successful Information Day was organised by the Hungarian Science and Technology Foundation in collaboration with Semmelweis University in Budapest, on 8 June, 2005. The full-day-event was focusing not only on the upcoming 4th call in TP1 "Life sciences, genomics and biotechnology for health" but also on further topics like "Negotiation with the European Commission and the consortium", "Financial aspects in FP6", "Audits" and "Marie Curie Actions".

Very successful "Specific `SME Call´ Workshop" in Brussels on 28 June, 2005
The EBE Working Session "Gaining Access to the specific `SME Call´ for Projects in the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6)", held in cooperation with the European Commission in Brussels on 28th of June 2005, was very well received. "SMEs go LifeSciences" contributed to the success of this workshop by providing relevant information on the preparation of research proposal and on the initiative's support activities!
