BioTech Forum + Scanlab: Successful biotech meeting in Copenhagen 5-7 October 2004: ”SMEs go LifeSciences” introduced to the audience.
Scandinavia's largest biotech event - BioTech Forum + Scanlab took place between 5 and 7 October 2004. 370 companies exhibited at the fair along with a biotech science conference and a business summit.
On 7th of October “SMEs go LifeSciences” had the opportunity to promote the project at the Centre Stage of the Exhibition Hall. The short presentation included the goals and means of the project and the electronic web partner matching tool including the presentation of a project profile from the web. Read more >

Successful “SMEs go LifeSciences” training and promotion on the “European Day of the Entrepreneur” conference in Sofia on the November 5th, 2004
The European Day of the Entrepreneur (EDE) was held on 4th and 5th of November 2004 under the motto "Opportunities And Challenges In The Enlargement of The European Market". It aimed at improving the entrepreneurship environment and at encouraging innovative thinking and innovative practices in Bulgaria.
On 5th of November, in the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, a training session on issues about the 6th EU Framework Programme was organised by the “SMEs go LifeSciences” partners ASMEP (Bulgaria), IFTR PAS (Poland) and ETNA (UK). Read more >

“SMEs go LifeSciences” representatives participate at the EuropaBio CEO Brussels Day to be held on 6th and 7th of December 2004
EuropaBio has produced a state of the art program in Brussels for CEOs of Biotechnology growth companies. The CEOs can talk to decision makers in different interactive workshops on Biotechnology, medicines, food and feed, and environment from several Directorate General of the EU Commission , the European Investment Bank, The European Patent Office and the EMEA.
“SMEs go LifeSciences” representatives will also be present at this meeting in order to give information and advice to CEOs, especially those from Small and Medium bioindustrial companies. Read more >

"SMEs go LifeSciences” Workshop in Brussels
8 December 2004

This training on the importance of SME participation in FP6, Financial aspects of European projects and the use of services offered by the ”SMEs Go Life Sciences” consortium will be held on 8 December 2004 in Brussels, in the Faculteit Geneeskunde & Farmacie, Campus Life Sciences Jette.

“SMEs go LifeSciences” Workshop for SMEs in Pforzheim, Germany,
10 December 2004


In Pforzheim, Baden-Württemberg, a national training session on FP6 issues for Life Sciences related SMEs will be held in German language on 10 December 2004.
Within a Life Sciences workshop topics such as Structure, Work programme and Calls in the Thematic Priority "Life Sciences, Genomics and Biotechnology for Health" will be dealt with, as well as important issues on Consortium building, Proposal preparation, Consortium Agreement and IPR.

“Congress of the Spanish Proteomics Society” to take place in Córdoba between 14 and 17 February, 2005: “SMEs go LifeSciences” is contributing with a transnational training session for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and researchers.
The “Spanish Society of Proteomics” (SEProt), constituted in April 2004, is organising its “First Congress of the SEProt” in Córdoba, between 14th and 17th of February, 2005. On 17th of February “SMEs go LifeSciences will hold a transnational training session for SMEs and researchers on the funding possibilities in Life Sciences within the Sixth EU Framework Programme (FP6), on successful proposal preparation and legal/financial issues.

EC has provided guidance notes for project coordinators planning a competitive call for additional contractors in an EU Sixth Framework Programme project
In October 2004 the European Commission published guidance notes for project coordinators of Integrated Projects (IPs) and Networks of Excellence (NoE) planning to incorporate additional partners. In this document the EC stipulates inter alia rules regarding an obligatory competitive call for additional partners, call publication and proposal evaluation and selection. Read more >
