EVENTS
Get connected! A VIRTUAL BROKERAGE EVENT is organised between
25 and 29 June 2007 on SMEsgoHealth.org
This VIRTUAL BROKERAGE EVENT is designed to help identify research interests in the Health area at European level and maximise the involvement of SMEs and academic organisations in research projects in the field of Health/Life Sciences of the 7th Framework Programme (FP7). To this end, all 29 partners of the "SMEs go Health" network have collected and selected relevant partner searches and profiles from academic researchers and companies in their own countries.
The classification of the partner searches and profiles is done according to topics open for submission in Call 2 of Health theme but can also be searched upon any keyword.
Experts from "SMEs go Health" support their national candidates to match profiles and contact potential partners among more than 1.100 profiles collected up to now in 35 countries.
In particular, the network will perform during one week - from 25 to 29 June 2007 - an intensive "matching" process: this means we will assist one by one each company and academic researcher from the database to find relevant partners.
Make sure your profile is up-to-date and that you have chosen your "Topics of interest for the next FP7 HEALTH Call(s)". You can access the profiles and partner searches accessible in the SGH database here.

THE WAY TO BETTER SUCCESS IN FP7
More companies, particularly Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) shall use the funds of FP7
To increase the participation of SMEs the European Commission made the 7th EU Framework Programme in Health Research more attractive for this target group. Out of the share of 6 billion Euro dedicated to the Health Theme in FP7, lasting from 2007 -2013, the share going to SMEs is expected to be at least 15% or 900 million Euro - an impressing figure making it interesting to consider this funding instrument.
Furthermore FP7 has a broader approach to health research than the previous Framework Programme covering also new areas, such as medical technologies and public health. Simplified rules also make the participation in this programme easier. Partnerships between SMEs and academic institutions become more and more important. SMEs go Health helps to find suitable partners for preparing FP7 research projects.

Tips from coordinators & project participants
Share your experience and knowledge on FP7 participation/submission, send tips and tricks to your SMEs go Health contact for publication in the Newsletter.
The description of the coordination and organisation of the project is a major part of the proposal, as it is one of the evaluation criteria of the Commission.
On most, if not all, of the successful proposals, Project Coordination is a full Work Package (typically the first or the last one).
Gathering all the information in a Work Package allows you to check all the organisational information (milestones, reporting, consortium meetings…) at a glance.
