on European Bioincubators and Biovalleys researched and developed
by the SMEs go LifeSciences consortium.
A directory of European Bioincubators and Biovalleys including companies
active in life sciences herein was developed by the SMEs go LifeSciences
consortium. This orientation catalogue with relevant contact data
and useful links shall serve as an additional search tool for potential
European partners for life science research and development projects.

Successful seminar & training “Get ready for EC
7th Framework Program” on 19 October 2006 at Riga Stradins
University, Latvia.
Within the framework of the two initiatives “Boosting Baltic
FP6” and “ScanBalt” a seminar & training was
organized for researchers, SMEs and associations on 19 October 2006
in Riga, Latvia. The aim of the seminar and training was to provide
latest information about FP7 and tools for active participation
in Health related projects in FP7..

Well-received
Life-Sciences FP7 workshop at BioTech Forum / ScanLab on 28 September
2006 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Within the framework of the BioTech Forum/ScanLab the two ETIs SMEs
go LifeSciences and "Passport" organised a joint workshop
on 28 September 2006 in Copenhagen, Denmark, helping SMEs and researchers
to prepare for European FP7 Life Sciences related R&D projects..

Biotech SMEs participation in EU founded projects exceeded
the European Commissions' expectations.
To remove barriers to enter FP6, the European Commission worked
closely with EuropaBio and Emerging Biopharmaceutical Enterprises
(EBE) to devise a special call for proposals targeting SMEs, and
consulted with the SMEs go LifeSciences network. The topics in the
call published in 2005 were deliberately very open and the call
required research intensive SMEs to play leading roles in the projects
with the SME(s) in each project receiving 30-50% of the EU grant.

EVENTS
Event on European Technology Platforms in Life Sciences
to take place in Rome, Italy, on 13 November 2006.
European Technology Platforms (ETPs) and their strategies in research,
especially regarding the forthcoming 7th Framework Programme (FP7)
will be presented in Rome on 13th of November 2006. ETPs, such as
"Plants for the Future" and "Innovative Medicines
for Europe", will be represented, clarifying their important
future role in FP7..

It's all about Health on 16 November 2006 in Vienna, Austria.
On
16 November 2006 funding possibilities of health research in the
7th Framework Programme (FP7) will be discussed in Vienna, Austria.
Ideas and research areas of the theme "Health" of FP7
will be presented and experience will be shared between successful
coordinators and partners in Life Sciences research projects of
FP6.

dealt with on 30 November 2006 in London, on 1 December 2006 in

The FP6UK team in association with the Medical Research
Council are organising three events in November and December 2006

research and development in the forthcoming “Health”

EuroBioForum to take place in Helsinki, Finland, on 14-15
December 2006.
EuroBioForum as a networking event on 14-15 December 2006
in Helsinki targets leading scientists and high-level delegates
from public and private funding organisations. It is offering the
possibility of brokerage , insight in trends in Life Sciences in
Europe and an overview of policies, resources and programmes of
funding organisations.
