The International Greek Biotechnology Forum (IGBF 4) will be organised in Zappeio Megaro, Athens, Greece on 2 and 3 Feb. 2008.

The past three fora had big success in the attendance level and announcements while the careful choice of speakers and subjects guarantee the continuing success of previous years.

Biotechnology leaders involved in basic research, medicine, agronomics, environment, economy and business will give presentations and discuss their opinion with distinguished foreign and Greek speakers.

The spirit and aim of the congress is to cause the creation of new, feasible research programs and collaborations and to constitute a forum of ideas for new biotechnological applications that have brooded from the biomedical research.
Many have called the 21^st century the "Century of Biology". Greece as a Country is trying reach the modern Biology developments, but a lot of steps remain in the sector of Biotechnology. Nevertheless, as a nation, Greece has enormous assets of intellect and human resource both in Greece as in the Greek scientists disseminated all over the world.
Apart from its human potential and institutions, Greece, as member of the European Union has access in various resources which have not been completely exploited yet.

One of the aims of this congress is to help the incorporation of Greek basic and mainly applied bioscience in those of Europe and USA.
